What is Spific Search?

Spific Search is the best web search currently available. Our internet experts have taken the power of a GOOGLE™ search and combined it with thousands of hours of human editing and refinement so that you get the best of both worlds – Human and Machine

How do I use a Spific Search?

On the home page select a search in any of the four available categories. Then fill in the search box at the top of the page and click search.  After you have conducted your search you will be taken to the results page at which point you can select a result or a refinement.  

What is a Refinement?

Refinements appear as underlined blue text at the top of your search results. Selecting a refinement will limit your search results to a specific category or website giving you more targeted results. The screenshot below shows the refinements available after conducting a “News & Newspaper” search. Selecting the “New York Times” refinement will display results specifically from the “New York Times” website. On the News search you can also select a specific date range. The screenshot below shows a search that only displays results from the New York Times within the past 24 hours.
